Este libro es el producto de varios aos de docencia e investigacin del grupo de investigacin sobre adquisicin y anlisis de seales PAASUN y aplicacin en el sistema elctrico colombiano. Se divide en 10 captulos que van desde la conceptualizacin del tema, confiabilidad, ndices particulares que afectan la calidad como flickers, armnicos, variaciones de tensin y transitorios electromagnticos hasta metodologas de evaluacin de calidad de la potencia y un captulo novedoso sobre la calidad de la potencia elctrica aplicado a la generacin distribuida. En cada uno de estos temas se analizan las normas nacionales e internacionales vigentes. Este libro fue posible gracias al trabajo acadmico de recopilacin de los temas de las estudiantes del programa de maestra en Ingeniera Elctrica de la Facultad de Ingeniera de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia: Leidy Buitrago, Diana Jimnez y Martha Camargo, el estudiante de doctorado Fabio Andrs Pavas y la estudiante de maestra Ana Mara Blanco quien realiz la recopilacin final.
