La perspectiva de un cambio climtico, junto con la estrecha relacin que existe entre el clima y la agricultura y el papel fundamental que la agricultura tiene en el bienestar de la humanidad, han incrementado los esfuerzos de la comunidad cientfica hacia la estimacin de las consecuencias de potenciales cambios climticos sobre la produccin agrcola. En este libro se presenta una investigacin orientada a la valoracin de los efectos del cambio climtico y de la variabilidad climtica sobre los cultivos de maz y man y a la evaluacin de alternativas de manejo, en el marco de sistemas sustentables, para disminuir las posibles consecuencias negativas de la variabilidad y de los cambios del clima. Utilizando modelos de simulacin de cultivos, se analiz el efecto de distintos escenarios climticos para la regin sur de Crdoba. Los cambios potenciales analizados y los resultados obtenidos en este trabajo pueden proveer una visin ms cercana de las posibles modificaciones que ser necesario realizar en la sociedad y en la produccin agropecuaria de la regin para ayudar a seleccionar las estrategias apropiadas para enfrentar los cambios.
