Angel Valley is no place for angels. The town leader is a sociopath with a taste for rape and scripture. The towns sheriff has been shot by the deputy and the married minister has fallen in love with the school marm. The only person desperate to get to Angel Valley is the town playboy and drunk; brutally beaten and left for dead in the desert. On Camels trek home, he truly enters hell with a group of desperate Indians, bitter Calvary and vicious renegades.

I was excited to read this book but was disappointed with its execution. The narrative felt disjointed, and I struggled to stay engaged. Maybe it’s just not my style, but I was hoping for something more compelling about the West Texas experience.

Interesting but Lacked Depth
This book had a lot of potential, but I felt like it skimmed over some key events in Texas history. I appreciated the storytelling, but I wished for deeper insights into the cultural dynamics of the 1800s. Not bad, but could be improved.

A Fascinating Read on Frontier Life
I picked up 'Moses: West Texas in the 1800s' and couldn't put it down! The way the author brings the struggles and adventures of those times to life is incredible. As a history buff, I loved the detailed accounts of daily life and the challenges they faced. Definitely worth a read if you're into historical narratives.
