From the poisoned rivers, barren wells, and clearcut forests, to the hundreds of thousands of farmers who have committed suicide to escape punishing debt, to the hundreds of millions of people who live on less than two dollars a day, there are ghosts nearly everywhere you look in India. India is a nation of 1.2 billion, but the countrys 100 richest people own assets equivalent to onefourth of Indias gross domestic product.Capitalism: A Ghost Story examines the dark side of democracy in contemporary India, and shows how the demands of globalized capitalism has subjugated billions of people to the highest and most intense forms of racism and exploitation.

This book has some interesting ideas and I definitely learned a lot, but I found some sections to be a bit dense and hard to follow. If you're into economic theories, you might get more out of it than I did. Still glad I read it!

Not what I expected at all
I bought this book hoping for a straightforward analysis, but it felt more like a collection of complicated narratives. The title is intriguing, but I was disappointed because it didn't resonate with me. Maybe it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Thought-Provoking and Engaging
I really enjoyed reading 'Capitalism: A Ghost Story.' The narrative is both engaging and thought-provoking, making you think about the implications of capitalism in a new light. The way the stories intertwine is fantastic!
