Seven short stories based upon experiences of Leon Goodman in the 1930s and 1940s ranging from Army Training in the U.S. to working on a freighter and later a passenger ship in the Mediterranean Sea, experiencing the first wave of AntiSemitism in Germany, and later his assignment to smoke the Japanese out of the caves of Okinawa during the period just after VJ day. Two of these stories were first prize winners in the N.Y.U. Fiction Workshops of 1937 and 1938.
