Product Description The stranger calling out to Tom Casey, who sits in a dark canyon with a lonely fire, turns out to be a newly arrived Irishman on the run from a troubled past. As the stranger reveals his sad tale, Tom Casey reflects on his own troubles. Tom has vowed to hunt down the man who murdered his brother at the end of the Civil War and a letter from back east accuses his youngest brother, Will of being a spy during the war. The time is one of settling old conflicts and moving forward west in search of big fortunes and land in the northwest Arizona Territory. Tom Caseys journey leads him to many adventures and a deeper understanding of human nature. About the Author Marjorie M. McGinley began to write in college while she attended Western Connecticut State University. She stopped for a while when she was raising a family and teaching elementary school, and then began again. She has had many short stories and poems published, and has written two prizewinning plays. Marjorie was born in Nyack, New York, and grew up in rural Connecticut. She lives on the Connecticut shoreline. Caseys Journey is Marjories fourth novel for AVALON. Footloose Conroy, John Crust and Snuffling Pig and Rattlesnake Gulch are also available.

I enjoyed reading Casey's Journey, but I felt some sections dragged a bit. The descriptions of the scenery were nice, though! If you're into Westerns, it’s definitely worth a read, just be prepared to power through some slower chapters.

Not what I expected
I found Casey's Journey to be a bit disappointing. The plot was predictable, and it didn't capture my interest like I hoped it would. I was really looking forward to a gripping Western, but it fell flat for me.

Beautifully crafted story
Casey's Journey is a beautifully written novel that really brings the Western atmosphere to life. The characters feel real, and the plot kept me turning pages late into the night. I bought it for my mom who loves Westerns, and she finished it in two days!
