The Ashmolean's collection of Predynastic Egyptian objects is widely regarded as the most representative of its kind anywhere in the world. This is the first catalogue of the collection, and in addition to the basic documentation and illustration of over 2000 objects, it includes a commentary and uptodate review of their chronological and cultural importance.
