Cecily's Summer is the delightful tale of an abandoned seal pup's sixweek adventure into our human world. Scared and alone on the beach, she is rescued by Nan Lincoln and her family, who name her Cecily. Cecily's Summer takes us from the moment she is lost through anxious ups and downs of adapting to the humans and their ways. Through the eyes of a seal pup we see the bond that is forged and that eventually must be broken as she returns to her ocean world. Nan Lincoln brought us the bestselling The Summer of Cecily, which describes this true and enchanting reallife story from the human point of view. Now it is Cecily's turn to tell the story of that glorious summer of adventure. Patricia J Wynne is an award winning artist who lives with her husband, the artist, Maceo Mitchell, in New York City. She works at the American Museum of Natural History and teaches numerous courses when she is not illustrating books. Her books are frequently on Book of the Year Lists in Newsweek, Smithsonian Magazine, Scientific American, Parade, New York Times Book Review and others. Nan Lincoln still lives on Mount Desert Island where she is the arts editor, a feature writer, and reporter for the Bar Harbor Times. She has also written articles for Reader's Digest, Down East, Yankee, and other nationally distributed magazines, and most recently for Chicken Soup for the Soul. She is a winner of the Bob Drake award for journalism from the Maine Press Association and numerous other state, New England, and national awards for her writing. When she is not writing she is singing with the Maine Women's Balkan Choir, which performs concerts throughout the state. Among her other favorite pastimes these days is walking with her dog Amos, a border collie, lab mix who, curiously enough, looks very much like a seal.
