The ultimate goal of periodontal therapy is to regenerate the components of periodontium that was affected by periodontitis. The peptide P15 is a synthetic clone of the 15amino acid sequence of TypeI collagen, that plays an important role in the binding of cells, particularly fibroblasts and osteoblasts, and in the initiation of other cellular events like migration, proliferation, and differentiation that are necessary for periodontal regeneration. Based on this concept, the ABM/P15 combination was developed. ABM/P15 consists of an anorganic bovinederived bone matrix (ABM) coated with a synthetic cellbinding peptide (P15).The presence of peptide markedly enhanced the ability of ABM to attach cells and may draw cells of nonbone origin to initiate differentiation and osteogenic repair
