Each chapter is written by an area specialist and collectively cover longestablished democracies as well as hybrid regimes, affluent postindustrial societies (Sweden, the United States, Britain, and Japan), major emerging economies (Russia, Brazil, and South Africa) and developing societies (India and Indonesia).
