In Bangladesh the government has different level of social services called VGD, VGF and other allowances for the hardcore poor, especially in the rural areas. The satisfaction level of those services could only be assessed or evaluated through public participation to understand the role of local government to meet the poverty reduction goal of the government under the MDG for the developing nations like Bangladesh. The research has been conducted to assess the level of satisfaction of the services by the Local government authority (Union Parishad) for VGD and different allowances services either the local community are satisfied with their services or not. The study has conducted in Dighalia and Senhati Union under Dighalia Upazila of Khulna District. The study methodology is completely based on a qualitative approach . These programs have achieved considerable success in reaching the target groups but their coverage is still small compared to the need of the disadvantaged groups. As a result, a large number of people are not satisfied with the services but they need the services to continue their livelihood.
