The first significant publication on Clyfford Still and his work in more than twentyfive years celebrates one of abstract expressionisms founders. Best known for his compelling abstract works with jagged fields and powerful expanses of color, Clyfford Still (19041980) stands among the giants of postWorld War II art. Together with Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Franz Kline, and Barnett Newman, Still helped shape abstract expressionism. This vividly illustrated book presents more than one hundred of Stills greatest works and is the first comprehensive catalogue of the new Clyfford Still Museum in Denver. The book offers intimate reflections written by his daughters Sandra Still Campbell and Diane Still Knox; Dean Sobel chronicles the origins of the new museum; and David Anfam, one of the worlds foremost authorities on Stills work, gives a new scholarly and critical perspective of Still, made possible by the opening of the museum. Illustrations include monumental paintings, works on paper, and Stills only sculptures, many of which have never been published or publicly exhibited.

If you're in the mood for a peaceful outing, the Clyfford Still Museum is the place to be. It's not too big, but the art is impressive and it’s easy to spend hours there without feeling rushed. Just bring your curiosity and enjoy!

Great for Groups, Just Needs More Info
Visited the Clyfford Still Museum with friends and we had a great time! The artwork is stunning, but I felt some of the descriptions could be more informative. A bit of a learning curve for those new to Still's work. Still enjoyed the trip!

Disappointing Experience
I was really looking forward to the Clyfford Still Museum but had a hard time with the staff's lack of knowledge about some pieces. The art is undeniably beautiful, but the experience was somewhat ruined by this. I left wanting more.

A Hidden Gem for Art Lovers
I recently visited the Clyfford Still Museum and it was such a delight! The collection is superb and the layout really enhances the experience. It's a perfect spot for art enthusiasts looking to explore modern abstracts. Highly recommend taking some time to soak in the atmosphere!

Worth a Visit, but Crowded
The Clyfford Still Museum had some amazing pieces, but it felt a bit crowded on the weekend. The art itself is breathtaking, but I wish there were more space to appreciate it without the hustle. Still, it's a solid choice for a day out.
