El libro ofrece una solucin cientfica al problema del diagnstico y la formacin de la generalizacin del pensamiento en las condiciones del proceso de enseanzaaprendizaje. Responde a la necesidad de superar la dicotoma existente entre el diagnstico y la formacin de la generalizacin al estudiar la gramtica inglesa, aspectos tradicionalmente concebidos como dos procesos independientes. Se presenta una concepcin terica sustentada en una definicin de generalizacin gramatical contextualizada al proceso de enseanzaaprendizaje. Se aportan tambin criterios tericos que sustentan la dualidad funcional, diagnsticoformativa, de las tareas docentes. Se incluye una metodologa para concretar en la prctica la concepcin terica elaborada. Asimismo, se introducen experiencias investigativas en el estudio de las generalizaciones gramaticales a partir de la dualidad funcional diagnsticoformativa de las tareas docentes. Ellas ofrecen una nueva posicin metodolgica para investigar acerca de la temtica abordada.
