CNS neuroprotection' was a common subject of papers, symposia, and reviews during the previous 'decade of the brain. ' Indeed, in recent years, experimental study of putative neuroprotective agents prompted clinical trials of numerous drug candidates in acute and chronic human neurodegenerative conditions.
