The essays focus on epistemic warrants that differ from those warrants commonly discussed in epistemologythose for ordinary empirical beliefs and for logical and mathematical beliefs. The essays center on four types of cognition warranted through understandingselfknowledge, interlocution, reasoning, and reflection.
