Cohesion and Collusion lays bare the action to promote the 2003 invasion of Iraq. It was written for all with insufficient knowledge of the event. People need to know how that successful promoting effort led to the injury, death, and displacement of millions. Among the halfmillion who died, 4,200 were Americans. The story must be told, reported the author: the who, why, and how. Given that the invasion was launched with effective persuasion, an investigation required use of a rhetorical methodology, concluded author Dr. Harold Barrett, respected critic of rhetorical interaction. Author and subject were meant for each other. And so Barrett went at it, finding that two powerful forces were involved in the great effort: the neoconservative persuasion and the White House leadership. Following a brief bit of history on the rise of neoconservatism and biographical sketches, he lays out chapterbychapter, a comprehensives description of strategies employed in the persuasion. Barrett then turns to the character of the second force, starting with results of the 2000 national election. He follows with biographies of winning figures: President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney and includes Don Rumsfeld who was chosen to join in. He delves into an extensive discussion of the leaders martial evolution, as they unify a position on attacking Iraq. He gives particular attention to Chaneys function (now featured in the current moving picture called Vice). In retirement, critic of rhetoric Harold Barrett, in amazement found no comprehensive account extant of the course leading to the attack. The result of his investigation is the unique Cohesion and Collusion: Promoting the 2003 Invasion of Iraq.
