Este trabajo se inserta en un Proyecto de Investigacin promovido y llevado a cabo por el Departamento de Filologa Clsica de la Universidad de Murcia, en el que se investiga el trabajo que realizaron los humanistas en la transmisin de los textos clsicos. En esta tesis doctoral se trabajan tres aspectos: la edicin, la traduccin y el estudio del comentario que hizo en su momento el humanista portugus al libro I de las Elegas del poeta Tibulo. En la edicin, se ha ido transcribiendo el texto del lusitano, a la vez que se han localizado todas las citas de los autores que utilizaba para apoyar su comentario a Tibulo. l mismo destac los lemmata (que se presenta siempre en mayscula y con indicacin del nmero de verso)a los que aadi su estudio. En segundo lugar, se ha realizado la traduccin de dicho comentario. Por ltimo, se ha llevado a cabo un estudio de los tipos de comentarios que hizo Stao a la obra tibuliana. Cierra el trabajo un captulo con las conclusiones a las que la autora de la tesis ha llegado, adems de una bibliografa detallada, un ndice general y un ndice de autores.
