Il s'explique, chaque fois qu'il le faut, sur les diffrences entre les vanglistes. Il dit peu sur chaque verset, va l'essentiel, situe la pricope dans son ensemble, la rapproche d'autres passages bibliques, bref, fait son travail d'exgte thologien, doubl d'un pdagogue et d'un crivain de talent. Surtout, il montre en quoi chaque parole de l'vangile peut parler tout lecteur et l'clairer sur sa propre vie, faisant ainsi du premier vangile le miroir du chrtien. Le prsent volume contient les livres III et IV du ' Commentaire ', qui commentent Mt 16, 13 la fin.
