A major part of the collection comes from Michael and Julie Halls extensive collection, acquired by the museum in the early 1990s. Parts of the collection went on nationwide tour during 19931995, with this volume clearly explaining the importance of the genre, the vision of the collectors, and the beauty of the pieces of art, all produced by selftaught artists.Distributed for the Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
