Community Participation in Community Water Management is new approach in water management in general and particularly in Tanzania. The approach has gained more attention recently due to prevailing water crisis in many parts of the country, which was the result of not having strong community management in taking care water schemes. This situation is caused by organizations both public and private who normally do not involve the community in: Planning, implementing and managing water project aimed at improving their living conditions. The result of which is the schemes failure within short period due to technical and administrative faults. For this reason, most of water schemes are now trying to bring in the community voice in water supply planning and management aiming at ensure sustainable water supply which is considered as one of the basic need and human right. This book which is based on action research will put more light on issue of community water management. It will be useful for researchers, social workers, policy makers and administrators in both public and private sectors.
