El proyecto portuario local vigente, no logra insertarse plenamente en el devenir histrico de la ciudad petrolera, de Comodoro Rivadavia, Chubut, Argentina; ni en su contexto regional, pese a que la ciudad naci como puerto; y, le permiti constituirse en eje central regional desde su etapa fundacional. El lugar que ocupa dicho proyecto en el desarrollo planificado de la ciudad para las primeras dcadas del siglo XXI es secundario. El proceso de investigacin cientfica, llevado a cabo a travs del desarrollo de un proyecto de investigacin grupal, permite presentar en este libro, aportes tericos y empricos abordados para el anlisis de la relacin ciudadpuerto, a partir del abordaje de temas conceptuales de actual relevancia, como territorio y del desarrollo territorial. Se parte del anlisis de la nueva configuracin territorial del rea portuaria como territorio equipado y organizado; indagando sobre el impacto de este territorio, en la dinmica urbana de la ciudad de Comodoro Rivadavia; y, si el mismo, es apropiado como un instrumento para la planificacin y el ordenamiento territorial.
