Se evalu la composicin y estructura florstica en borde e interior de un fragmento de bosque en La Loma del Oso. Se establecieron cinco transectos de 20 m de ancho por 500 m de largo, separados entre s 300m aproximadamente, en donde se instalaron de manera sistemtica (desde el borde hasta el interior del bosque) cinco parcelas de 20m x 20m a una distancia de 100m cada una, equivalentes a 25 parcelas (1ha). Tanto en la posicin borde como interior del fragmento de bosque, se midieron, registraron e identificaron todas las especies arbreas = a 10 cm. de D.A.P. Se calcularon los ndices de riqueza y diversidad florstica, utilizando los ndices de diversidad de ShannonWeaver H, Dominancia Simpson Ds. y diversidad de Fisher S. Se realiz una prueba no paramtrica (Kruskal Wallis), para determinar las diferencias estadsticas entre las posiciones borde e interior. En el fragmento de bosque se registr un total de 666 individuos, 40 familias, 65 gneros y 107 especies. Las especies ms abundantes en borde e interior del fragmento de bosque fueron Protium amplum, Pseudolmedia laevigata, Psychotria aff. grandis, Aegiphila novogranaten y Cinchona aff. pubescens.
