La biotecnologa es uno de las actividades tecnocientficas que mayor impacto social est teniendo en los ltimos aos. Por esta razn es ineludible ampliar el conocimiento de los mecanismos que dicha actividad genera en el mbito social. Con el objetivo de conocer la percepcin social que la biotecnologa genera se ha hecho un estudio sobre los imaginarios sociales de la misma. Para ello se ha desarrollado un enfoque integracionista entrelazando la metodologa de la hermenutica analgica con el estudio de los imaginarios sociales, puesto en marcha por el profesor Juan Luis Pintos. Sin ninguna duda sta es una obra necesaria para conocer pormenorizadamente aspectos sociolgicos, psicosociolgicos, tecnocientficos y hermenuticos de la biotecnologa.
