Computer Science: An Overview uses broad coverage and clear exposition to present a complete picture of the dynamic computer science field. Accessible to students from all backgrounds, Glenn Brookshear uses a language-independent context to encourage the development of a practical, realistic understanding of the field. An overview of each of the important areas of Computer Science (e.g. Networking, OS, Computer Architecture, Algorithms) provides students with a general level of proficiency for future courses. The Eleventh Edition features two new contributing authors (David Smith ?? Indiana University of PA; Dennis Brylow ?? Marquette University), new, modern examples, and updated coverage based on current technology.

This book does a decent job in summarizing key computer science concepts. However, it lacks depth in some areas. It was a used copy, and I noticed some notes in it, which I didn’t mind much but others might.

Decent Resource for Beginners
This book is a solid introduction to computer science topics. I found it useful, but some sections felt a bit rushed. For a used book, it was in good shape, and I got a great deal on it!

Great Overview of Computer Science Concepts
I bought this used book for my intro to computer science class, and it was super helpful! It covers a lot of ground in an easy-to-understand way, which is perfect for beginners. The condition was better than I expected too!

Excellent Value for Money
I found this book at a bargain price and it has been worth every penny! Perfect for someone like me who is just starting to explore computer science. A few dog-eared pages, but nothing too distracting.

Not in the Best Condition
While the content itself is fine, the used condition of the book was disappointing. Pages were wrinkled, and there were a few highlights that distracted me. I expected better for a purchased used copy.
