La situacin de salud de cada grupo poblacional se articula estrechamente con sus condiciones de vida y con los procesos que las reproducen o transforman. Cada individuo o grupo de ellos tiene un estilo de vida singular que, relacionado con otras caractersticas, constituye la unidad entre lo social y lo individual. De ah que la situacin de salud resultante, pueda ser mejor o peor en la medida en que se modifiquen las diferentes dimensiones de la reproduccin social. Se realiz un estudio descriptivo y transversal en un universo de 123 maestros de la Enseanza Especial del municipio Marianao, con el propsito de identificar el estado de salud de los mismos en relacin con sus condiciones de vida. Para el abordaje de las condiciones de vida, se utiliz la clasificacin de Donate y Nabut y se emple la tcnica estadstica del anlisis de cluster. Se logr establecer dos grupos diferentes en cuanto a condiciones de vida, en los cuales el patrn de morbilidad result ser diferente. Las enfermedades crnicas prevalecieron en ambos estratos.
