Filling an important gap in the literature, this comprehensive text develops conformal field theory from first principles. The treatment is selfcontained, pedagogical, and exhaustive, and includes a great deal of background material on quantum field theory, statistical mechanics, Lie algebras and affine Lie algebras. The many exercises, with a wide spectrum of difficulty and subjects, complement and in many cases extend the text. The text is thus not only an excellent tool for classroom teaching but also for individual study. Intended primarily for graduate students and researchers in theoretical highenergy physics, mathematical physics, condensed matter theory, statistical physics, the book will also be of interest in other areas of theoretical physics and mathematics. It will prepare the reader for original research in this very active field of theoretical and mathematical physics.

This book covers a lot of ground in conformal field theory, making it suitable for those who already have a solid foundation. Some sections are a bit dense, but the detailed discussions really enhance understanding.

A Bit Too Theoretical for My Liking
I appreciate the depth of the material, but I found some parts a bit too abstract. It’s definitely geared towards those deep into graduate theory. Could use more practical examples for clarity.

Solid Text, But Not for Beginners
I found this book well-written, but it really assumes you already know a lot about physics. It's not the easiest read for newcomers. If you have a strong background, it'll be useful, but don't expect a gentle introduction.

Arrived Damaged and Took Ages
The book itself is great, but it arrived with some damage to the cover. Also, shipping took longer than I expected. Not the best experience, but the content is solid once you get it!

Packed with Information, But Heavy to Carry
I love the content of this text! It's packed with information that has been invaluable for my studies. Just wish it wasn’t so heavy to lug around campus. Still worth it though!
