From the authors of TalismanA Collection of Nose Art, volume one of a projected multivolume historical series on American bomber aircraft. Over 24,000 b24s were constructed between 1940 and 1945, making it the single most produced aircraft of World War II. The B24 served in all theaters of World War II: ChinaBurmaIndia, Japan, South Pacific, North Africa, Italy, France, Germany, and Russia. The history of the B24 is presented here in hundreds of photos, over seventy in World War II era color, and most unpublished. Detailed photographs of nose art and markings, and overall shots, present all aspects of the various models. All war fronts are covered and show the early B24c types to the late war, Privateer, and Naval models, and the B32 Dominator. A special color section features the doomed Lady Be Good when it was found in the Libyan desert in the early 1960s. Future volumes in the series include the B29, the B17, and a volume on the medium bombers including the B25 and B26.
