Unfortunately, my copy came with a dented cover, which was a bummer since it’s a gift for a friend. But the content on modernism is pretty interesting and provides valuable perspectives. Just wish it hadn’t been damaged in transit.

I was pretty excited to read this book, but it felt more like a summary than a deep dive into modernism. Some sections were just too brief. It’s still informative, but I expected a bit more insight given the topic.

Great Resource for Art Students
As a graduate student in art history, this book has been super helpful. It covers a lot of ground in modernist movements and is pretty well-organized. I do wish it had more images, though, since some concepts can be a bit abstract without visuals.
