El tema de estudio fue el proceso histrico de la Unidad Educativa Colegio Gonzaga, ubicado en la ciudad de Maracaibo, Venezuela. Se utiliz la metodologa cualitativa para reconstruir el hacer educativo de esta institucin en su contexto histrico social, tambin se utiliz el mtodo histrico y la metdica de la historia oral; por medio de una revisin bibliogrfica y documental que a la vez tom el aporte de los agentes sociales que han convivido en el Gonzaga. Se realiz el estudio en base a los principios tericos de la microhistoria y la historia social, que busca reconstruir los procesos histricos a partir de la actuacin de los colectivos y la vinculacin con sus localidades. Con el desarrollo de este estudio se pretendi realizar una aproximacin sobre la actuacin del Gonzaga en la sociedad marabina, explicada contextualmente con los procesos regionales y nacionales del pas. Asimismo, se procur que los integrantes de la institucin se interesaran en conocer la historia del colegio Gonzaga, por tanto se busc fortalecer la identidad y el sentido de pertenencia de la comunidad educativa y local con el colegio.
