En el mayora de las clulas tumorales se observa un incremento significativo en la velocidad de la gluclisis con respecto a sus tejidos de origen. Este incremento se atribuye a un aumento en la expresin de todas las enzimas y transportadores de esta va, promovido por algunos oncogenes o por el factor inducido por hipoxia. Adems, la hexocinasa (HK) y la fosfofructocinasa tipo 1 (PFK1) que son los principales sitios de control en clulas no tumorales, presentan cambios en sus mecanismos de regulacin. Por lo que se propone que la distribucin de control en la gluclisis de las clulas tumorales es diferente a lo que se observa en las clulas normales. Para evaluar esta propuesta y determinar la distribucin de control se empleo el anlisis de control metablico a travs de dos estrategias experimentales: el anlisis de elasticidades y el modelado cintico. Nuestros resultados indican que el flujo de la gluclisis tumoral es controlado por el transportador de glucosa, la HK y la hexosa fosfato isomerasa. Por lo que podran ser blancos potenciales para el diseo de nuevos frmacos que acten como inhibidores mas potentes y especifcos.
