I recently picked up this book from Milner and I'm loving it! The step-by-step guides in the crewel embroidery section are super helpful. I’m a total newbie and the illustrations make it easy to follow along. Would be perfect for anyone wanting to learn this craft!

Good for reference, but a bit limited
I found this practical guide to be useful, but it doesn't cover as many projects as I hoped. The tips on techniques are solid, though, and it’s nice to have a book dedicated to crewel embroidery. I guess I just wanted a bit more variety in patterns.

Not what I expected
Unfortunately, this guide wasn't what I thought it would be. The projects looked great online, but when I tried a few, the instructions felt a bit vague. I ended up frustrated with my first piece, so I’m giving it a low rating. There might be better books out there.

Decent guide, with room for improvement
The Milner Craft Series has a nice approach, but I feel some sections could use more depth. The basics are well covered, yet I’d love to see advanced techniques included. Still, it's a pleasant read and good for starters!

My go-to guide for crewel work
This book is a fantastic resource if you’re serious about crewel embroidery. I love how Milner breaks down the stitches and techniques. It’s become my go-to whenever I start a new project. The designs are lovely too!
