This text, the only criminal law casebook authored by two progressive female law professors of color, provides the reader with both critical race and critical feminist theory perspectives on criminal law while following a traditional format. All of the usual subject areas are covered, but the book is unique in highlighting the cultural context of substantive criminal law. Damaged upon arrival
I was looking forward to this book, but it arrived with a torn cover. There was also some water damage on the first few pages. I contacted customer service, but the replacement took longer than I expected. Frustrating experience overall.

Solid reference, but dense material
This casebook is packed with relevant cases and materials, but the text can be a bit heavy at times. As a 2L, I appreciate the depth, but I sometimes wish the explanations were clearer. It's still a good buy for serious law students.
