In 1942, Lawrence Pritchard Waterhouse, mathematical genius and captain in the U.S. Navy, is assigned to Detachment 2702, whose mission is to keep Nazis ignorant of the fact that Allied Intelligence cracked the enemys fabled Enigma code. Sixty years later, Waterhouses cryptohacker grandson, Randy, is attempting to create a data haven where encrypted data can be stored and exchanged free of scrutiny. Soon his scheme brings to light a massive conspiracy that originated with Detachment 2702, one that represents either a future of personal and digital liberty or universal totalitarianism reborn.

While 'El Codigo Aretusa' had some great concepts, I felt the execution was a bit lacking. Some sections dragged on, making it hard to stay engaged. It's an okay read, but I expected more from a sci-fi novel. 3 stars seems fair!

Interesting but a bit confusing
I found the book intriguing, but some parts were a little hard to follow. The science fiction aspects are compelling, yet the storyline jumped around a lot. I still enjoyed it, just had to read a few parts twice to catch everything!

Not for me unfortunately
I really wanted to like this book, but it didn't capture my interest. The pacing felt off, and I struggled to connect with the characters. I guess sci-fi just isn't my genre. I’ll stick to thrillers!

Fantastic sci-fi narrative!
This book is a fantastic journey into another world. The blend of science and fiction kept me entertained throughout. I particularly liked how the author tackled complex themes with ease. Highly engaging!

Great for sci-fi lovers!
I bought this for my brother who loves sci-fi, and he was hooked from the first chapter. The storytelling in 'El Codigo Aretusa' is fantastic, and the twists are unpredictable. It’s a great addition to his collection!
