Cubism, perhaps the seminal art movement of the twentieth century, is also one of the most complex. It was the product of the decade before the outbreak of war in 1914. France, during this period, was torn by intercity class and international tensions, caught between excitement over the experience of modernity and anxiety about its consequences. Analyzing paintings by Picasso, Braque, Robert and Sonia Delaunay and their associates, David Cottington describes how the artistic avantgarde, and Cubism within it, were formed by that turbulent and complex moment.

I found the insights in the Cubism movements book really interesting and well-researched. However, I felt like it could have included more artists' perspectives. It’s a bit overpriced for what it offers but still a decent addition to my collection.

Disappointed with the print quality
I was excited to dive into this book on Cubism, but the print quality wasn’t what I expected. Some images are a little blurry, which detracts from the overall experience. It’s an interesting read, but I wish the visuals were sharper.

A must-have for art lovers!
This book on Cubism movements in modern art is a fantastic resource! The illustrations are vibrant and really bring the concepts to life. I bought it as a gift for my sister, who's an art student, and she's been raving about it ever since!
