Lnder Zeitalter Weltkriege, LeopoldFranzensUniversitt Innsbruck (Institut fr Geschichte und Ethnologie), Veranstaltung: Politische Skandale und Gewalt in sterreichUngarn, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Politische Attentate knnen als historische Ereignisse gesehen werden, in denen lange aufgestaute Spannungen aufbrechen und Krfte sich melden, die den Gang der Geschichte aufzuhalten oder zu beschleunigen versuchen." Als der Sozialdemokrat Friedrich Adler den sterreichischen Ministerprsidenten Karl Reichsgraf Strgkh im Wiener Restaurant Meil und Schadn" am 21. Oktober 1916 um 14.45 Uhr mit drei Schssen aus einer BrowningPistole niederstreckte, fiel diese Tat in die sowohl auen als auch innenpolitisch sehr turbulente und brisante Phase des ersten Weltkriegs. Im Zuge der folgenden Arbeit sollen zentrale Aspekte des Attentates wie Ursachen, Umstnde und Reaktionen nher untersucht werden. Bevor aber auf die eigentliche Tat eingegangen wird, werden in den ersten Kapiteln die angespannte innenpolitische Situation und die restriktive Politik basierend auf dem Paragraphen 14, der Tter Friedrich Adler und seine Entwicklung hin zum Attentat und sein Opfer Karl Graf Strgkh nher beleuchtet, um in den folgenden Kapiteln Tat, Untersuchungshaft, Prozess und Urteile zu erlutern. Weitere Untersuchungsgegenstnde werden die Reaktionen der Presse und der ffentlichkeit auf die Tat und die sich in der Folge des Prozesses verndernde Meinung sein. In der Herangehensweise an den Forschungsgegenstand wird die gesamte Zeitspanne vom Attentat ber den Prozess bis hin zur Haftentlassung Adlers als geschlossene Einheit betrachtet.
