Dabei wurden verschiedene Aspekte, wie der berzogene Militarismus und die anerzogene Untertanenmentalitt, herausgegriffen und in Form der Gattung des Schulromans der ffentlichkeit prsentiert. Hierbei sind mehrere Beispiele zu nennen. Wedekind zeigt in seinem Werk Frhlingserwachen', dass die berzogene Sexualmoral und die fehlende Aufklrung in der Schule zu einem groen Identittskonflikt der Jugendlichen fhren und sie in die Verzweiflung oder im schlimmsten Falle sogar zum Selbstmord treiben. Hesse hingegen stellt den groen Leistungsdruck der Schule in den Vordergrund, indem er aufweist, dass durch bloes Aneignen groer Wissensmengen keine selbststndigen Geister erzogen werden, sondern angepasste, widerspruchslose Untertanen'. Wer sich diesem System nicht fgen will oder dem Druck nicht standhlt, wird ausgesondert und vergessen. All diesen Werken ist gemeinsam, dass sie das Leben in der wilhelminischen Schule ausschlielich aus der Schlerperspektive schildern, ohne auf die Protagonisten der Gegenseite, die Lehrer, nher einzugehen. Die Schule erscheint als mchtige, unbarmherzige Institution und der Lehrer ist nur Schema, personifizierte Macht des Staates, ohne eigentliche Entwicklung.'1 Dabei sind es genau jene Schultyrannen, die mageblich zu den kritisierten Umstnden beitragen aber selten wird nach ihren Motiven und Beweggrnden gefragt.
