Diese zunchst rein medizinischtechnische Innovation stellte neben HalsNasenOhrenrzten und Audiologen nicht zuletzt auch Pdagogen vor neue Herausforderungen. Besonders fr die Schwerhrigenpdagogik begann mit dem Besuch von Kindern mit Cochlea Implantaten an Hrgeschdigtenschulen eine neue ra, denn wie CLAUEN (1991, S. 125) anmerkt, diente die Versorgung mit CIs zunchst dazu 'aus gehrlosen Kindern schwerhrige zu machen, die bei der Entwicklung ihrer kommunikativen Mglichkeiten vorwiegend auditiv ausgerichtet sind.' An Bildungseinrichtungen fr Schwerhrige finden sich folglich gegenwrtig auch mehr als doppelt so viele Schler mit CI wie an Bildungseinrichtungen fr Gehrlose (vgl. GROE 2003, S. 75). Dies erscheint schlssig, da Kinder mit Cochlea Implantaten in der Regel ber hnliche Frderbedrfnisse verfgen wie schwerhrige Kinder und folglich auch nach den gleichen Methoden gefrdert werden (BRAND 1998, S. 100). Der Stellenwert des Cochlea Implantats und speziell seine Auswirkungen auf die Hrgeschdigtenpdagogik stehen im Mittelpunkt dieser Arbeit. Diese sollen anhand einer Analyse fachlich relevanter Zeitschriften ermittelt werden. Im ersten Teil der Arbeit (Kap. 15) wird eine Einfhrung zum Cochlea Implantat gegeben, das methodische Vorgehen der Untersuchung erlutert sowie die Bedeutung von Fachzeitschriften fr die Wissenschaft diskutiert. Auerdem beschftigt sich ein Exkurs mit der Rolle des CIs in den hrgeschdigtenpdagogischen Fachzeitschriften der DDR.
