Es fllt heute im Vergleich zu den angrenzenden Husern durch seine unverputzte Quaderbauweise in Sandstein und seine Ausdehnung dem Betrachter ins Auge. Den Bauauftrag fr das Gebude gab Carl Maximilian Freiherr von Egloffstein 1718. Die Rumlichkeiten des Barockpalais, welche nur kurze Zeit vom Adelsgeschlecht von Egloffstein bewohnt wurden, dienten in Folge vielen Zwecken. Heute stehen die rtlichkeiten der Volkshochschule zur Verfgung. Im nun Folgenden sollen neben Ausfhrungen zum Bauherrn und der Planungs und Baugeschichte, eine Baubeschreibung des Auenbaus, sowie der Innenausstattung, mit besonderem Blick auf den Obergeschosssaal, erfolgen.
