Der Einflu, den die Ghaseldichtung eine der bedeutendsten lyrischen Gattungen des Orients auf die deutschen Dichter ausgebt hat, bildet das Zentralthema. Die Besprechung der reprsentativen Ghaselen aus dem Nahen Osten bereitet den Boden fr die Diskussion des deutschen Ghasels vor, das mit Blick auf die orientalischen Kriterien einer formgetreuen Ghaseldichtung historisch dargestellt wird.
