Nicht immer wird das Glck so offen zum Thema des Mrchengeschehens wie in dieser Erzhlung. Doch sptestens die formelhaften Schlussstze der meisten Mrchen aus der Grimmschen Sammlung lassen keinen Zweifel mehr an dem Glck der Protagonisten: [...], und sie lebten glcklich und zufrieden bis an ihr Lebensende.' Doch worin besteht deren Glck? Nicht nur das Fehlen jeglicher Ausschmckung von diesem macht die Bestimmung des Glcks im Mrchen schwer, auch semantisch ist der Begriff des Glcks im deutschen Sprachraum problematisch, da er mehrfach konnotiert ist. Wohlstand (prosperitas), Zufriedenheit (felicitas), Schicksal (fortuna) oder Geschick Glck hat viele Namen und die Frage, was wahres Glck ist und wie dieses zu erreichen ist, ist lter als die Philosophie2. Im Gegensatz zur realen Welt scheint im Mrchen, wo sich Wirklichkeit und Phantasie verschwistern, das Glck des Helden selbstverstndlich, wodurch die Frage aufgeworfen wird, inwieweit der Protagonist seines eigenen Glckes Schmied sein kann oder dessen Schicksal durch die narrative Struktur des Mrchens vorherbestimmt ist. Ziel der Arbeit ist es, die Bedeutung des Glcks fr die Struktur und die Moral des Mrchens zu eruieren. Gegenstand der Untersuchung bilden die Kinder und Hausmrchen der Brder Grimm in ihrer dritten und am weitesten verbreiteten Auflage aus dem Jahr 1837. Im Mittelpunkt der Analyse steht dabei das Zaubermrchen, als Prototyp des Glcksmrchens, wobei auch auf Unterschiede zu anderen Gattungen, hier ist vor allem das Schwankmrchen zu nennen, verwiesen werde
