Es kndigt sich ein Lebensabschnitt an, der von programmiertem Lernen und gezielter Ausbildung geprgt sein wird. Der Kindergarten hat die Mglichkeit, den bergang zur Grundschule einzuleiten und zu untersttzen. Doch bereitet er in sinnvoller Weise auf die Grundschule vor? Dass Lernen nicht erst in der Schule anfngt, ist eine Binsenweisheit. Der Spracherwerb mag als Beispiel dienen: Er zeigt, welche enorme Lernfhigkeit Kindern in den ersten sechs Lebensjahren eigen ist. Die Forderung, diese Lernfhigkeit im Hinblick auf die schulische Bildung mglichst frh zu nutzten, ist nicht neu. Aber sptestens seit der Diskussion ber die Ergebnisse der PISAStudie ist sie von der Tagesordnung nicht mehr wegzudenken: Elementarpdagogische Einrichtungen sollen sich als Bildungseinrichtungen sehen und ihren Beitrag dazu leisten, die Bildungsqualitt in Deutschland zu erhhen. Kann der Kindergarten, die Kindertagessttte das leisten? Werden diese Einrichtungen nicht berfordert? Vor allem aber: Werden nicht die Kinder berfordert? Damit stoen wir unmittelbar auf die Frage nach sinnvollen Konzepten. Es gibt mittlerweile eine Reihe von Kindergrten, die ihre Kinder anhand spezieller Konzeptionen spielerisch auf den Schulunterricht vorbereiten wollen. 'Entdeckungen im Zahlenland' ist eines dieser Konzepte, das mit gezielter Frhfrderung Kinder auf den Mathematikunterricht der ersten Klasse vorbereiten will. Trotz dieser elementarpdagogischen Frderung weisen SchlerInnen hufig in der Grundschule deutliche Lernschwierigkeiten in Mathematik auf.
