Natrlich spielen auch die grammatischen Strukturen einer Sprache eine herausragende Rolle, im mndlichen Gebrauch jedoch tritt die Grammatik eher in den Hintergrund und dem Wortschatz kommt die bedeutendere Rolle zu. So hat die Fremdsprachendidaktik in den letzen Jahren ihr Augenmerk wieder verstrkt auf Wortschatzkompetenz gelegt. Den Schlerinnen und Schlern mssen also Strategien vermittelt werden, die ihnen die Erlernung eines mglichst groen Wortschatzes erleichtert und vor allem eine langfristige Speicherung des Vokabulars sichern. Folglich stellt sich sie Frage, ob solche Strategien existieren und ob sie im Fremdsprachenunterricht angewandt werden, d.h. ob sie in entsprechenden Lehrwerken implizit oder explizit zu finden sind. In dieser Arbeit wird daher zuerst geklrt welche lexikalischen Strategien es gibt, wie sie zu klassifizieren sind, wie sie wirken, was sie bewirken und wie das mentale Lexikon funktioniert und arbeitet. Dies ist notwendig, um herauszufinden, wie Vokabular im mentalen Lexikon reprsentiert ist und wie es gespeichert und abgerufen werden kann. Der zweite Teil der Arbeit beschftigt sich mit der Praxis. Anhand zweier ausgewhlter Lehrwerke wird untersucht, ob lexikalische Strategien angewandt werden und ob sie explizit vermittelt werden. Das erste Lehrwerk ist Lnea uno, das 1997 im Klett Verlag erschienen ist, das zweite ist Qu pasa? 2, 2008 im Diesterwegverlag erschienen. Zwischen den Erscheinungsjahren der beiden Lehrwerke liegen 11 Jahre, deswegen wird im Schlussteil zu klren sein, ob die Lehrwerke verschiedenartig mit der Vermittlung von Wortschatz umgehen und welche Betonung auf den explizit vermittelten Vokabellernstrategien liegt.
