Sie ist entstanden aus einem Text, der nur die ursprngliche Binnenerzhlung beinhaltete, ohne den spter weit ausgeschmckten Rahmen,in dem von einer komplizierten Freundschaft berichtet wird. Die indische Geschichte "Der Yogi und das Mdchen" ist eigentlich von der Entstehung her die letzte, aber sie ist ein gutes Bindeglied zwischen der Jetztzeit der ersten Erzhlung und der des alten gypten der ruhmreichen 18. Dynastie. Die dritte heit "Tutu", vor etwa dreitausenddreihundertdreiig Jahren hat diese "moderne" Frau des neuen Reiches gelebt.
