Im ersten Halbjahr 2009 meldeten 61.517 Bundesbrger Privatinsolvenz an. Es wird mit einer Gesamtzahl von 140.000 Privatinsolvenzen im Jahre 2009 gerechnet. Im Gegensatz zum Jahre 2008 mit 120.289 Verbraucherinsolvenzen ist das ein Anstieg von 19.711 Antrgen in nur einem Jahr. Die hufigsten Antrge der Schuldner enthalten ebenfalls den Antrag der Restschuldbefreiung. Mit der Einfhrung der Insolvenzordnung hat der Gesetzgeber den natrlichen Personen als Schuldnern die Mglichkeit gegeben, innerhalb von sechs Jahren schuldenfrei zu sein. Das Verfahren der Restschuldbefreiung ist jedoch ein sehr komplexes. Nicht jeder Schuldner kann eine vollkommene Schuldenbefreiung erlangen. Viele Vorschriften engen dieses Ziel ein.
