Die vorliegende Arbeit beschftigt sich mit den theoretischen Grundlagen des symbolistischen Theaters, als dessen bedeutendster Vertreter der Belgier Maurice Maeterlinck gilt, und untersucht die spezifischen Besonderheiten seiner Dramen im Bereich der Handlungsfhrung, der Dialoggestaltung und der Personendarstellung. Ihre wesentliche Aufgabe sieht die Autorin jedoch darin, die von Maeterlinck verwendete komplizierte Symbolsprache zu entschlsseln und deren bislang noch kaum beachtete Funktion als Modell einer bestimmten psychologischen Analyse aufzudecken.

I really wanted to enjoy this book, but the translation felt off in places. I found it hard to connect with the text. Not what I had hoped for. I think I’ll stick to the original French works instead.

Beautiful Edition, But Packaging Issues
I loved the book itself, the cover and print quality are excellent. However, it arrived with some damage to the packaging, which was disappointing. I expected better care in shipping for a special edition like this.

A Must-Read for Theater Lovers
I picked up this edition of Maurice Maeterlinck's works and it's just beautiful! The German translation is well done, and the insights into Symbolist theater are fascinating. If you're into drama or literary theory, this is definitely worth a read.

Interesting Concepts, But Somewhat Dense
While I appreciate the depth of Maeterlinck's ideas on Symbolism, I found some sections hard to digest. The writing style is quite intricate, which can be a bit heavy at times. Still, it's a solid addition to anyone's theater collection.
