Die Einzelkosten und Deckungsbeitragsrechnung, als streng entschei dungsorientiertes Kosten und Erlosinformationssystem von P. Riebel konzi piert, setzt sich wegen ihrer theoretischen Oberlegenheit in der Wissen schaft und in der Praxis langsam durch. Hemmnisse lagen bisher in der Komplexitat des Systems insgesamt und im Aufwand der Datenerfassung und pflege. In Foige der Verbreitung der EDV und vor allem der Bereitstel lung offener Datenbankarchitekturen wie dem Relationenmodell konnten wesentliche Argumente, das System sei weder darstell noch handhabbar, aufgehoben werden. In der Arbeit von Fischer und Rogalski wird nun konsequent der Weg eines relationalen Datenmodells fur eine entscheidungsorientierte Kosten und Er losrechnung beschritten. Die BezugsgroBen, Schlusselbegriff im Riebel schen System, werden unterteilt in Entscheidungsobjekte und EinfluBgros sen. Letztere waren bisher immer mit zu beachten, ohne daB man genau wuBte, aus welcher Ecke der Datenbasis sie herkamen. Dabei gibt es seit den sechziger Jahren das stiefmutterlich behandelte System der Richt kostenrechnung von LaBmann, das auf EinfluBgroBenfunktionssystemen beruht und damit den linearen Modellen des OR nahe verwandt ist. In die sem System wurde jedoch die Vielfalt der Entscheidungsobjekte vernach lassigt, die Riebels wesentliche Aufmerksamkeit hatten. In dem von Fischer und Rogalski entwickelten Controlling konzept KOREX wird bei der Ordnung der Entscheidungsobjekte von der Vorstellung Abschied genommen, diese befanden sich in verschiedenen Objekthierarchien (fertigungswirtschaftlich, absatzwirtschaftlich, etc. ). Tatsachlich handelt es sich um ein einziges Netz von Objekten, aus dem geeignete Hierarchien je nach Fragestellung gene riert werden konnen.
