Cependant la structure polymre/air prsente dans lisolation de nombreux matriels lectriques est moins rsistante chimiquement et physiquement laction des dcharges de surface. Cest pourquoi il est ncessaire de mieux connatre les mcanismes qui gouvernent linteraction entre la dcharge lectrique et la surface du polymre isolant. Cet ouvrage prsente, dune part une tude des courants de dcharge de surface et de la charge associe en fonction des caractristiques de lisolation solide/air et dautre part, une caractrisation de la surface du dilectrique soumis laction de cette dcharge en utilisant diffrentes techniques dobservation et danalyse de surface. Linteraction entre la dcharge et la surface du solide isolant est mise en vidence et les mcanismes de dgradation sont dcrits par un modle chimique. Ce travail intressera aussi bien les tudiants du gnie lectrique que les spcialistes des dcharges et des isolations lectriques.
