In This Book, Critically Acclaimed Historian Nick Hewitt Examines The Fleet That Secured The British Assault Area From The Eve Of DDay Until The End Of The Assault Phase Of Operations On 30 June 1944. This Book Explains The Minesweeping That Allowed The Landings To Take Place, And The Various Naval Operations That Brought British And Canadian Troops To The Beaches. It Also Explores How The Fleet Defended The British Assault Area From Counterattacks By Enemy Destroyers, Coastal Forces, Mining, And Special Attack Units, And How It Sustained The BuildUp That Fed Resources To The Growing Allied Forces.Illustrated With Archive Photos, Original Artwork And 3D Diagrams And Maps, And Drawing Upon Primary Documentation That Has Previously Gone Largely Unused, This Book Offers A Fresh Exploration Of The Sea Power Behind DDay.

As a history buff, I found the DDay Fleet 1944 fascinating. The model captures a significant moment in time, especially with the Royal Navy ships represented. It’s a great conversation starter, but it could use a sturdier base.

Perfect for educational purposes!
I purchased the DDay Fleet 1944 for my classroom, and it’s been a fantastic tool for teaching about World War II. The detail is good enough to engage students, though some parts are small and delicate.

A bit pricey for what you get
I bought this model for my son, who loves naval history, but I felt it was a little over-priced for the size and detail. It’s a nice piece but doesn’t quite meet my expectations for the cost.

Nice model, but some flaws
This fleet model looks good overall, but I noticed a few paint imperfections on my unit. It was a bit disappointing considering how much I paid. Still, I love the historical aspect of it.

Arrived damaged, disappointing!
Unfortunately, my model arrived with a broken piece, which was really disappointing. I was looking forward to adding this to my collection. Customer service was helpful, but I still need a replacement.
