Product Description Seit der Freilegung (1902) des zentralen Wasserverteilungsgebudes (Castellum Aquae) im antiken Pompeji gibt es nicht nur eine Theorie darber, wie die Wasserversorgung und verteilung in dieser Stadt funktioniert hat, sondern die Funktion der Anlage gilt weithin auch als Modell fr andere antike Stdte. Basierend auf einer langjhrigen interdisziplinren Untersuchung der Anlage selbst, des Zuleitungskanals und der Quellgebiete wird diese Theorie widerlegt. Darber hinaus konnte die Baugeschichte der in mehreren Phasen entstandene Anlage ermittelt werden. Obwohl die technischen Einrichtungen zur Verteilung und Regulierung des Wassers schon in der Antike geraubt worden waren, konnte durch Analyse der Sinterablagerungen im Wasserversorgungssystem sowie durch Strmungsuntersuchungen in einem Gromodell nachgewiesen werden, wie die Wasserbewirtschaftung in Pompeji funktioniert hat.
