En "De barrios y vecinos" los autores, formados en disciplinas tan diversas como la Arquitectura, la Comunicacin y la Antropologa, abordan los sentidos que construyen los habitantes de Ibagu, una ciudad de los Andes colombianos, acerca del espacio pblico, la ciudad y la sociedad en sentido amplio. A partir de su experiencia, reflexionan tanto sobre las oportunidades y desafos que conlleva la investigacin interdisciplinaria, como acerca de los modos en que los vecinos de un barrio popular y uno de clase alta viven el espacio pblico, construyen y habitan el privado, y establecen relaciones con aquellos con quienes cohabitan la ciudad. "De barrios y vecinos" es un valioso aporte a la comprensin de los sentidos que construyen en trnsito entre el espacio pblico y el privado los sujetos de la investigacin acerca del lugar que ocupan en la sociedad ellos y los Otros con los que conviven, pero de quienes se diferencian socioeconmica, generacional y polticamente. Sin embargo es ms que eso, y su lectura posibilita entender no solamente cmo los autores hicieron la investigacin cuyos resultados presentan, sino de qu manera sta los hizo como investigadores.
